Connection

As human beings we all need to feel connection, to see and to be seen, to join for maybe only a fleeting moment, with another being. This feeling of connection nurtures us to be the best we can be, allowing us to do more than just survive, but to thrive.

Sometimes these moments of connection are easy to identify, when we share a cuppa with a good friend, share our lives on a real level, the up and the downs. Other moments of connection are simply sharing a smile with a stranger, a brief exchange with a shop assistant.

These moments of connection will look different to all of us, what one person might consider nurturing to another maybe unbearable. My happiest moments of connection are sitting with one or two friends, over a coffee sharing our lives, our success and failures, our fears. My

husband however feels more able to connect in a big group. Thinking about your connection style is an interesting exercise, because you can then foster the places where this could happen.
